Sickness Absence Management
This initiative explored and evaluated alternative models to the current system of sickness certification and absence management, with a focus on occupational health services. Implementation of these models would help to reduce demand for GP sick-notes and consultations, as occupational health advisers would be able to manage and resolve some conditions.
Alternative resourcing strategies could also help to reduce the workload of GPs through a reduced need for sickness certification and improved patient outcomes, as well as offer improvements for employers and employees.
WiPP formally completed its work on 30th June 2008. This site will remain live until March 2009.
